Human is Not Controlling Emotion

We human beings live with emotion like most living creatures do. We feel happy when everthing goes well, sad when someone unexpectedly leaves us, angry when something annoys or bothers us, and many kinds of emotions appear on ourselves. Some people may have wondered and thought about how these emotions come and affect us. After their consideration, most of them misunderstand that humans can create and change their emotion. Think about the situations that can be happened after our emotion. We would have a fight or an argument when we feel angry at someone, hug or kiss someone when we feel love, run away or confront against when we feel fear, cry when we are sad, and various situations occur naturally in accordance with variety of emotions. They can happen because our emotion is automatically triggered before we notice it. We might think that emotions can be controlled by humans because we feel them differently, but humans are not able to highly control their emotions.

Emotions affect our physical bodies and mental. According to MK projects,  people who just ignore and repress their emotions are setting themselves up for physical illnesses. Also in the MK, emotions that are felt but buried in the body can cause serious illnesses such as cancer, arthritis, and other types of chronic illnesses. Everybody knows and feels that emotions change how we feel, our thinking and our behaviors. Our physical and mental conditions formed by the emotions differ in daily lives because our emotions are also different daily. That means emotions control us without any difficulty, and we are controlled by them unconsciously. Consider the opposite. People are affected by the emotions. Say ;someone feels an emotion and want to change it exactly what he or she wants. People practice various trials to control their emotions. For example, they suppress our angers and sadness not to express them to others. After that, they commonly feel so tired that they can not do anything except getting rest or sleep. This kind of symptoms breaks the balance of biorhythm and occur disease in our bodies. Emotions normally give several influences intactly on us without any guarantee. That's why we sometimes have to sacrifice anything like our bodies to deal with the emotions. The only complex thing, people necessarily live with, is the emotion.

Let's consider the different emotions of every person in different situations by looking at some examples of people trying to confront freely to their emotions. Humans face lots of situations while surviving in the society. Each of them feels different emotions and even express differently in the same situations. People aim not to easily show their emotions and aim to "control" them in their social groups. For example, suppose your boss always gives much pressure on you but you have to follow him to get a better promotion. In this case, you might feel angry with him and move to another company because you couldn't overcome this situation. Or you might regard it as a happy chance and accept that you are getting developed from this situation. These two emotions are common in this situation, and other emotions might not appear. The latter can be a good method, but it might be hard for all people to choose it. That means people feel and express their emotions, but they are hardly able to decide what they want. What they should feel is determined by their emotions.

The thought of people who call themselves 'mind controller', and some psychologists made the error and prejudice on normal people's thought of their emotions. Even the inventions to change the identified emotions are considered impossible to be made. The ability to quite freely control our minds is still seemed wizardly and unfamiliar nowadays. People unconsciously consider 'control' on their emotions as a perfectly realistic and possible fact. If someone is about to experiment his conscious emotions, he or she will simply waste their time and find nothing outstanding.

Humans imagine their change and their infinite control over themselves but this is mostly impossible and can lead to misunderstandings of themselves in real life.

So the basic thing for this topic is how we define the emotion. As we can find around us, People define emotion in subtly different ways. The opinions over emotion are kind of various because we mention different definitions of emotion. However, more people think of emotion as fundamental in our body that can be described with more specific and convincing explanations. Most people confuse emotion with feeling. Some say that the feeling is the response part of the emotion. (MK projects by Mary Kurus). Dr. Maurice Elias defines that emotions are human beings, warning systems as to what is really going on around them. The definition of emotion for this argument describes the various fields in our bodies that affect the emotion.

An article from MK projects directly shows an example why humans are not controlling their emotions:
Think of the people who go along day after day seeming to function normally,  and all of a sudden they will explode in anger at something that seems relatively trivial and harmless.  That is one sign of someone who is trying to control or repress their emotions, but their repressed emotions are leaking out.
The more anyone tries to control their emotions the more they resist control, and the more frightened people eventually become at what is seen to be a “loss of emotional control”.  It is a vicious circle.
Human emotions affect the whole part of ourselves mostly. They do not only give influence on our physical and mental condition. They attract the reaction to our response and processing systems that are internal, and affect social relationships, and daily lives that are external. To say an inference, the human being is a robotic creature for the emotions. Emotions trigger naturally and they don't accept our awareness before they make the process.

David Matsumoto from San Francisco State University suggests the process of triggering emotions and its response system. Perception turns to physical and psychological schemas. Appraisal happens immediately and unconsciously and matches to decide an emotional response. If it doesn't match, the people continue to scan the environment. This process happens by cooperating each other and continues automatically. After the process, people show some basic kinds of response systems such as physiological reactions, cognitions, feelings, and expressions. For example, some people pee when they are nervous or afraid. Peeing happens so naturally and instantaneously that we do not consciously recognize. The 'unconscious' reactions happen that we could not intentionally decide the expressions and feelings we want. Also, David Matsumoto mentioned that people have basic emotions that contain many other varied emotions. They are anger, contempt, disgust, fear, enjoyment, sadness, and surprise. Everyone simply shows these emotions daily. Even though we try to repress our emotions, we are not able to stray from the range of our basic emotions.

My argument is kind of abstract, but it can be easily examined with our experiences. There would be some people who disagree with my opinion. They would mention some steps to control emotions, successful experiments on a human mind, and the advantages of letting emotions catch us up. However, these arguments are contradicted. First, the steps and therapies, suggested by lots of people who insist that they have their know-how, are not the right methods for controlling emotions. They think methods such as taking some breath when they feel urgent or angry and ignoring the situation are great for controlling the emotions, but the word 'control' itself doesn't fit for these methods. We can just ease or repress our emotions, but the bad emotions might stay into the memory. The memory can bring the emotions back whenever it can, thus making you feel uncomfortable. It would be better if we use the term 'delay the emotions' rather than 'control the emotions'. Second, the recent experiments succeeded in treating the human mind seem like the great achievements but they still relied on the electronic devices. What if people do not have any devices when they are about to manage their emotions? They may not able to manage their emotions. We can not actually manage our emotions without our long trial and training. The devices can connect our brain each other for sharing some mere signals, but they don't go well for our emotional training. To find the ways to control emotions, people should practice other experiments without using any devices. Third, some people say that just letting emotions catch you up in any ways could be better than bothering on each emotion. However, that is also not a good idea for our mental health. Human emotions are associated with many factors in ourselves. There is one thing that all humans mention as 'the cause of all kinds of disease'. That is stress, which people always receive and release in every moment. We would get stress if we just bury the emotions inside ourselves. Also, we would unconsciously get the stress if we just let the emotions do on their own because it is hard to estimate what emotions we would feel and the results. Human, to get to know, is so sensitive that they easily get stress.

It is regarded as natural in many project articles that human emotions are triggered unconsciously and give lots of symptoms on anyhow humans treat them. It is true in part that we can sometimes repress our emotions while not getting any symptoms. However, what we have to keep in mind is that the human is never able to surpass the unconsciousness. The emotion, to say again, is a powerful and main source that  affects our whole physical and psychological self. It is possible for people to at least manage their emotions but most humans don't know the right time and place to deal with emotions. We need to find ways to figure out efficiently and accept our emotions and some methods to release appropriately and repress them rather than waste time to dominate the emotion. The basic emotions are completely same among us so we can give hands to each other for stable expression of emotions by interacting in society. But it is still easy to ignore the unconscious and automatic triggering of emotions, and become overweened when human becomes comfortable with their emotions by practicing simple management.

Self Evaluation

1) What score do you think you deserve? Here is the rubric:

I think I deserve 1 point. Actually, I completed my first draft late because I tried to write as best as I can do.

2) What did you do well?

My organization is good and the elements are connected well.

3) What could you have done better?

I could have used the research better. I need to analyze the research more.

4) Which part of the classical argument did you use the best?

My confirmation contains various convincing explanations. Also I suggested good counter argument in my refutation and concession.

5) Which part of the classical argument did you use the most poorly?

My narration is kind of weak because I need more examples.

6) What's your strategy to make your second draft better?

Acutally I couldn't find what I have to do for my better classical arugment essay because I posted my first draft very late and couldn't get the feedback....However, I'll try my best to find and make it better.

However, what we have to keep in mind is that human is never able to surpass the unconsciousness. The emotion, to say again, is a powerful and main source  affects our whole physical and psychological self. It is possible for people to at least manage their emotions but actually most humans don't know the right time and place to deal with emotions. We need to find ways to efficiently figure out and accept our emotions and some methods to appropriately release and repress them rather than waste time to dominate the emotion. The basic emotions are completely same among us so we can give hands to each other for stable expression of emotions by interacting in society. But it is still easy to ignore the unconcious and automatic triggering of emotions ,and overween when human becomes comfortable with their emotions by practicing simple management.

Conclusion

My Conclusion

It is regarded as really natural in many project articles that human emotions are triggered unconciously and give lots of symptoms on anyhow humans treat them. It is true in part that we can sometimes repress our emotions while not getting any symptoms.

Refutation and Concession

1. What is my thesis?
Humans are not able to highly control their emotions.

2. What is the opposite position?
Humans will succeed controling their emotions with their trials.

3. What arguments can I anticipate?
a) Some steps people usually mention for controlling emotions  b) An experiment on human mind c) Advantages of letting emotions catch you up

4. How will I counter those arguments?
a) You can just ease your emotions, not controlling. b) It would be hard to manage your emotions by yourself (without any devices). c) You would get stress which is harmful to you.

My Refutation and Concession

My argument is kind of abstract but it can be easily examined with our experiences. There would be some people who are against with my opinion. They would mention some steps to control emotions, successful experiments on human mind, and the advantages of letting emotions catch us up. However, these arguments are contradicted. First, the steps and therapies, suggested by lots of people who insist that they have their own know-how, are not the right methods for controlling emotions. They think methods such as taking some breath when they feel urgent or angry and ignoring the situation are great for controlling the emotions but the word 'control' itself doesn't fit for these methods. We can just ease or repress our emotions but the bad emotions might stay into the memory. The memory can bring the emotions back whenever it can, thus making you feel uncomfortable. It would be better to use the term 'delay the emotions' rather than 'control the emotions'. Second, the recent experiments succeeded in treating human mind seem as the great achievements but they still relied on the electronic devices. What if people do not have any devices when they are about to manage their emotions? They may not able to manage their emotions. We can not acutally manage our emtions without our own long trial and training. The devices can connect our brain each other for sharing some signals but they don't go well for our emotional training. To find the ways to control emotions, people should practice other experiments without using any devices. Third, some people say that just letting emotions catch you up in any ways could be better than bothering on each emotions. However, that is also not a good idea for our mental health. Human emotions are associated with many things in ourselves. There is one thing that all humans mention as a 'the cause of all kinds of disease'. That is stress, which people always receive and release in every moment. We would get stress if we just bury the emotions inside ourselves. Also we would unconsciously get the stress if we just let the emotions do on their own because it is hard to estimate what emotions we would feel and the results. Human, to get to know, is so senstive that they easily get stress.

6 Steps to Controlling Your Emotions

Source : 6 steps to controlling your emotions
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-carmen-harra/controlling-your-emotions_b_3654326.html

My Topic : Humans are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.

What I hope to learn from this source :
I want to find the examples of some trials on human mind and emotion.

Notes :

1. Don't react right away - Before refuting the trigger with your emotional argument, take a deep breath and stabilize the overwhelming impulse.
2. Ask for divine guidance - When burdened with emotion, close your eyes, envision a positive solution to your problem, and ask the universe to illuminate the best path forward.
3. Find a healthy outlet - Many people find it helpful to engage in aggressive exercises, such as kickboxing or martial arts, to discharge their feelings.
4. See the bigger picture - Even in the midst of an emotionally upsetting moment, trust that there exists an ultimate purpose which you will come to comprehend soon.
5. Replace your thoughts -  Whenever you are confronted with an emotion which is making you feel or think something bad, force it out of your mind and replace it with a different thought.
6. Forgive your emotional triggers -  As you forgive, you will find yourself disassociating from the harsh feelings attached to your being.

Final Thoughts : This research is for making my counterargument of  the opposition from my opinion. I can now be able to find some problems in this research and use it for my counerargument. This tells that humans try hard to manage their emotions but this also shows some contradictions.

What I hope to learn from this source :
I want to find the examples of some trials on human mind and emotion.

Notes :

1. Two labs were set up at the University of Washington.
2.The first of these housed Rajesh Rao. Wearing a headset that allows him to play a computer game with his mind.
3. Andrea Stocco wore a swim cap with a transcranial magnetic stimulation coil. When the coil received information it sent impulses directly into his brain.
4. Stacco only reason to press down on that spacebar after the stimulation was the signal sent ot him, over the Internet, by Rao.
5. Stacco took instructions from Rao and they both succeeded in the game while having different role.

Final Thoughts : This research is for thinking about the opposition of my opinion. It can be used to tell the developing skills of human and its continuance of breking the limit. That can help my classigal argument essay more convincing.

Confirmation

1. What is my thesis?
Humans are not able to highly control their emotions.

2. What types of source am I using to defend my thesis?
I am using some articles and reports that someone wrote after their own research.

3. Are my arguments mostly based on evidence, logic or emotion?
Actually, I have plenty of informations for  my argument but I have few examples. That's why I can say that my arguments are mostly based on my logic and emotion.

My Confirmation

The basic thing for this topic is how we define the emotion. As we can find around us, People define emotion in subtly different ways. The opinions over emotion are kind of various because we mention different definitions of it. However, more people think of emotion as fundamental in our body with more specific and convincing explanations. Most people confuse emotion with feeling. Some say that a feeling is the response part of the emotion. (MK projects by Mary Kurus). Dr. Maurice Elias defines that “Emotions are human beings, warning systems as to what is really going on around them." The definition of emotion for this argument accepts the various fields in our bodies.

An article from MK projects directly shows an example why humans are not controlling their emotions:
Think of the people who go along day after day seeming to function normally,  and all of a sudden they will explode in anger at something that seems relatively trivial and harmless.  That is one sign of someone who is trying to control or repress their emotions but their repressed emotions are leaking out.
The more anyone tries to control their emotions the more they resist control, and the more frightened people eventually become at what is seen to be a “loss of emotional control”.  It is a vicious circle.
Human emotions affect mostly the whole part of ourselves. They do not only give influence to our physical and mental condition. They attract reaction to our response and processing systems that are internal, and affect social relationships, and daily lives that are external. To analogize, human being is a robotic creatures for the emotions. Emotions trigger naturally and they don't accept our awareness before they make a process.

David Matsumoto from San Francisco State University suggests the process of triggering emotions and its response system. Perception turns to physical and psychological schemas. Apparisal happens immediately and unconsciously and matches to decide an emotional response. If it doesn't match, the people continue to scan the environment. This process happens by cooperating each other and continues automatically. After the process, people show some basic kinds of response systems such as physiological reactions, cognitions, feelings, and expressions. For example, some people pee when they are nervous or afraid. This happens so naturally and instantaneously that we could not recognize. The "unconcious" reactions happen that we could not intentionally decide the expressions and feelings we want. Also, David mentioned that people have basic emotions that contains many other varied emotions. They are anger, contempt, disgust, fear, enjoyment, sadness, and surprise. Everyone simply shows these emotions daily. Even though we try to repress our emotions, we are not able to stray from the range of our basic emotions.

Narration

My persuasive argument thesis is: Humans are not able to highly control their emotion.

1. What do people already know about my topic?

Everyone exactly knows that humans feel variety of emotions and react. Also they know that it affects to our mental and physical influence and that people try several methods to make their emotion better. People have experience of expressing their emotion unconsciously because of the suddenly triggered emotion. That's why some people feel confused of their actual emotion. Despite we always feel emotions, people don't exactly know about the definition and the process of emotion.

2. What research has already been done about my topic?

http://www.wikihow.com/Express-Your-Feelings - Good source for knowing about the method and therapy to notice and ease human emotion.
http://www.mkprojects.com/pf_emotions.html - More specific details of human emotion such as the definition of emotion and feelings, the symptoms and effects of emotion and the way people accept it.
 http://www.google.co.kr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CEoQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fdavidmatsumoto.com%2Fcontent%2FNG%2520Spain%2520Article_2_.pdf&ei=vE5LVJ7hC5D48QWN_oIw&usg=AFQjCNH38-3oxF2HlYMlRqcqaJwGvBCOTA&sig2=myWj6zH5NWeGR23OkmXZLA&cad=rjt
 - The deepen source about human emotion that emphasize the changing human emotion in history, and the nature, systems and factors for triggering emotion.

3. What are the implications of my argument (What if I'm right? What if I'm right and people ignore me?)

Humans still feel emotion and response to it then express. Several inherent factors and systems play a role in feeling and regulating emotion. However, emotion can not be highly controlled by them because emotion occurs unconsciously. If people ignore me, they will confidently regard themselves as a mind controller though they will not be able to easily escape from their feeling of shock or bad condition. They will waste their time thinking and wondering about why their emotion goes like this and that. They will get more confused and rely on other things for a solution, not by themselves.

My Narration

Emotions affect our physical bodies and mental. In the MK projects,  people who just ignore and repress their emotions are setting themselves up for physical illness. Emotions that are felt but buried in the body can cause serious illness such as cancer, arthiritis, and other types of chronic illnesses. Emotions change how we feel, our thinking, and our behaviors. Our physical and mental conditions formed by the emotions differ in daily lives because our emotions are also different daily. That really means emotions control us without any difficulty and we are controlled by them unconsciously. Consider the opposite. People are affected by the emotions. Say "someone feels an emotion and want to change it exactly what he or she wants". People try various solutions to control their emotions. For example, they suppress our angerness and sadness not to express to others. After that they commonly feel so tired that we can do nothing except getting rest or sleep. This kind of symptoms breaks the balance of biorhythm and occur disease in our bodies. Emotions normally give several influences intactly on us without any guarantee while we have to sacrifice something like our bodies to deal with the emotions. The contra is not always true although the definition seems true.

Let's consider the different emotions in different situations of every people to look at some examples of people trying to freely confront to their emotions. Humans face lots of situations while surviving in the society. Each of them can feel different emotions and even express differently in the same situations. People aim not to easily show their emotions and aim to "control" them in their social groups. For example, suppose your boss always gives much pressure on you but you have to follow him well to get a better promotion. In this case, you might feel angry with him and move to another company because you couldn't overcome the situation. Or you might feel happy and accept that you are developing from this situation. These two emotions are common in this situation and other emotions might not appear. The latter can be a good method but it might be hard for people. That means people feel and express their emotions but they don't decide them. What they should feel is determined by their emotions.

The thought of people who call themselves "mind cotroller" and some psychologists made the error on normal people's thought of their emotions. Even the inventions to change the identified emotions are considered impossible to be made and the ability to quite freely control our minds is still seemed wizardly nowadays, people unconsciously consider "control" on their emotions as a realistic fact. If someone is about to experiment his conscious emotions, he or she will find nothing.

Humans' imagination of their change and their infinite control over themselves but this is mostly impossible and can lead to misunderstading of themselves in real life.

Introduction

We human beings live with emotion like most living creatures do. We feel happy when things go well, sad when someone unexpectedly leaves us, angry when something annoys or bothers us and many kinds of emotion appear on ourselves. Some people may have wondered and thought about how these emotions come and affect us. After their consideration, most of them misunderstand that humans have the ability to create and change their emotion. Think about the situations that can be happened after our emotion - We would have a fight or an argument when we feel angry at someone, hug or kiss someone when we feel love, run away or confront against when we feel fear, cry when we are sad, and various situations occur naturally in accordance with variety of emotion. They can be happened because of our automatic emotion before we really notice it. We might think that emotion is able to be controlled by human because we feel it differently but actually humans are not able to highly control their emotion.

1. Attention grabber -
I tried to attract people with common emotion that everyone completely feels in daily life. Then, I mentioned what some people may have wondered about and showed their opinion that is misunderstood and suggest them to think about the situations.

2. Explains the topic -
I wrote some situations that the readers might think of while they are reading as an element to derive the topic. Also I mention the elements of my topic : automatic emotion, misunderstanded opinion, and the opposite of this opinion.

3. My thesis -
I first thought the argument that "Various situations can be occured by various human emotions." but it was broad, and not direct. Then I changed it to specific argument that "Humans are not controlling and not able to control their emotion" but it was not that simple and thought it should be more specific. Finally, I changed it to "Humans are not able to Highly control their emotion."

Classical Argument Outline

1. The introduction, which warms up the audience, establishes goodwill and rapport with the readers, and announces the general theme or thesis of the argument.

I will start by writing about the common sense that everyone must have thought of:  what is the exact meaning of human emotion? Then, I will give a example based on the opinion most people give that they are controlling their mental change and emotions. After that I'm going to say that this opinion is a wrong expression for the essence of human emotion and mention the thesis that 'Human is actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.'

2. The narration, which summarizes relevant background material, provides any information the audience needs to know about the environment and circumstances that produce the argument, and set up the stakes-what’s at risk in this question. In academic writing, this often takes the form of a literature review.
I will show what I've researched about and explain about distinction between emotion and feelings how the emotion comes or be triggered and the way humans notice and regulate their emotion which can make them misunderstand that they have an ability to control their emotions. I will give a brief introduction of the history of human emotion from our ancestors to current ourselves.
3. The confirmation, which lays out in a logical order (usually strongest to weakest or most obvious to most subtle) the claims that support the thesis, providing evidence for each claim.
I will start by describing how human depends on several basic inner systems and therapies to feel and response to their emotion. I will emphasize that human emotion progresses and occur unconsciously, not by their own ability by telling about the Basic human emotion. I will descibe the paradox that humans think they can control emotion but they rely on the external therapy because they have difficulty to notice the limit of themselves. I will examine that human can control the response of their emotion, not their emotion which rapidly appears to us.
4. The refutation and concession, which looks at opposing viewpoints to the writer’s claims, anticipating objections from the audience, and allowing as much of the opposing viewpoints as possible without weakening the thesis.
I will concede that not expressin the response from the actual emotion can be a repressing or even controlling of emotion. I will concede the examples of actor and actress, gagman and gagwoman who have to do their job not cling to their present emotion and feelings.
5. The summation, which provides a strong conclusion, amplifying the force of the argument,  and showing the readers that this solution is the best at meeting the circumstances.
I will summarize my previous points and then give a emphasis on the unconcsious effect on human being. I will end by mentioning my orginal thesis again.

My Topic : Humans are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.

What I Hope to Learn :
I want to learn about how human emotions have been changed from the ancient history to the current society. I wonder if there are some information like the role of human emotions that I couldn't figure about.

Notes :

The Evolution of Human Emotion
1. Emotions are biological(pysiological response), psychological(mental), and social(interactions&relationship).
2.  Emotions evolved to help us cope with events and situations that had consequences for our immediate welfare.(Forms any consequence or solution in any situations)
3. Emotions evolved to allow us to rapidly, efficiently, automatically, and unconsciously react to the world without thinking, and prepare us to act (or react) appropriately.
4. Emotions aid in adaptation because they recruit programs that coordinate and orchestrate other evolved systems, such as perception, attention, inference, learning, memory, goal choice, motivational priorities, physiological reactions, motor behaviors, and behavioral decision making.

Basic Emotions
1. Humans experience many different types of emotions, including self-conscious emotions, positive emotions, prosocial emotions, and moral emotions.
2. The basic emotions include anger, contempt, disgust, fear, enjoyment, sadness, and surprise.
3. These Basic Emotions are shared with our primate ancestors. That is to say, they appear to be emotional reactions that nonhuman primates have as well.
4.  Basic emotions refer to a quite large and varied emotional world. They include several detailed emotions. That's why they are called 'Basic'
How are Emotions Triggered?
1. Emotions can be triggered by the existence of a base processing system that could occur in interactions with nature or with other humans. The system is hard-wired and hard to be changed by experience through the lifespan.
2. The process of triggering emotions are like that
(1) Perception which is turned to schemas consist of two components- physical characteristics & psychological meanings)
(2) Apparisal which happens immediately and unconsciously and matches to decide an emotional response.
*If it doesn't match, the individual continues to scan the environment.
3. This process is coordinated.
4. People all around the world universally have some prototypic schema in the emotion schema database when they are born.
5. People can learn to have emotions to virtually anything.
6. The ability to learn to have emotional reactions allows for large cultural and individual differences.

The Basic Emotion Response System
1. Physiological Reactions, Cognitions, Feelings, and Expressions are the basic emotions response system.

The Impact of Evolved Emotions Today
1. Humans in many current cultures today are conquering or controlling personal climate while our ancestors were trying to survive and exist in the nature.
2. Emotions allow for complex social networks and relationships, and enhance the meaning of normal, daily activities.
3. The key for the future is not to eliminate emotions. We can’t. Instead, we need to learn how to regulate our emotions to live in a civilized, new world.

Final thoughts :
This research helped me to understand that human emtions have been the major source of our history and have changed by the changing environment and human attributes. It helped me to agree on the basic human emotions which we commonly show on our face. The process of triggering emtions and the basic emotion response system helped me to learn that humans regulate or feel their emotions by several things that are inherent in themselves, not by their own ability. This research helped me with supporting my opinion.

Articulation

1) My argument
I want to argue that people are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions . Emotions are likely to change people's mood and behavior. People tend to think that they have control in any cases and to show what they want while they sharing their emotions and reactions each other. I want to emphasize that 'control' is a wrong use of term for the emotion.

2) How I found my argument
My first research question was, 'How should people do with their emotions?'. I wonder if there are any rules on having different feelings. The article in my 'Research 1' shows the way to identify and express feelings. And I've started to think that people are not same at when and where and how much they tend to express their feelings. The article in my 'Research 2' shows mostly everything about different examples and ways people differently do with their emotions. Then, I  think that different examples exist because of the different viewpoint for emotion among people.

3) New research questions
a) How does the brain response to the emotions?
b) Which progress does people have for their expression of emotions?
I'll continue looking for interesting articles and keeping track of my research with blog posts.

4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler
This argument is mostly related to the human mind in Harvard Sampler because human emotions are fundamentally related to the human mind. The human emotions are not controllable as the human mind does(My subjective thought). The human mind tend to become attracted to the stereotypes. The human emotions also have a tendency because even human themselves don't exactly and perfectly know about the emotions.

Emotions – How To Understand, Identify and Release Your Emotions

Source : Emotions - How to understand, identify and release your emotions
http://www.mkprojects.com/pf_emotions.html

My Topic : Humans are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.

What I hope to learn from this source :
I want to learn the detailed sources about the basic things of human emotions and human mind such as the definition.

Notes :

1. Emotions control your thinking, behavior and actions.
2. Some make a distinction between emotions and feelings saying that a feeling is the response part of the emotion and that an emotion includes the situation or experience, the interpretation, the perception, and the response or feeling related to the experience of a particular situation.
3. Dr. Maurice Elias says, Emotions are our most reliable indicators of how things are going on in our lives.
4. The only person who can change what you feel is you.
5. There are only two basic emotions that we all experience, love and fear.
6. You cannot change or control your emotions.  You can learn how to be with them, living peacefully with them, transmuting them (which means releasing them), and you can manage them, but you cannot control them.
7. People are afraid to really feel their feelings. Being strongly connected to your emotional life is essential to living a life. Go-South!
8. Repressing your emotions in various ways can cause various symptoms.
9. Repressed or buried emotions can cause major difficulties in the physical body and energetic systems.
10. If you keep remembering something or someone your emotions on them is being repressed.
11. Accepting responsibility for your emotions are one of the method to release emotions.

Final Thoughts : This research source is more specific than the last one(Research 1) that I've found. It has most information that I have been looking for. It mostly tells about what the emotion is, what people should do for their emotions, what the symptoms are and how they do affect us. I think this is good for telling more smoothly about the emotions, one of the confusing source of human, for understanding.

How to Express Your Feelings

Source:
How to Express Your Feelings
http://www.wikihow.com/Express-Your-Feelings

My Topic:
Some uncommon situations can be formed depending on how people express their mind and feelings, and react  to the expression.

What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to learn new sources that can help me support the topic, or the sources about which is good for the situations among the various emotions.

Notes :

 1. You have to accept your feelings by asking yourself, 'What is your feeling now?' 'How your feelings would operate the situation?' 'How to deal with your recent feelings?'
 2. Everyone's way of feeling is different. That's why when you struggle to think about your feelings you can either write  a list of emotions and think about your experience or think about the positive and negative effects of each emotions.
 3. Pay attention to your body's response and try notice your feelings by the response.
 4. Events that you've experienced affects to the different emotions from others in same situations.
 5. Practice experimental focus by relaxing your body in comfortable space or calmly listening to your emotions, not reacting to it.
 6. Think and consider carefully with your choice of how to express yourself.
 7. Find someone you trust and verbally express your feelings by telling the situation or your story.
 8. Your emotion is linked to your body response so try to express your emotion by using your body like exercising, listening to music, and etc.

Final Thoughts :
This source is good for understand that people are able to regulate their feelings like easing their sudden emotions. However, I need more examples of various situations that we can experience to find out different human emotions. I have to find more.
