Introduction

We human beings live with emotion like most living creatures do. We feel happy when things go well, sad when someone unexpectedly leaves us, angry when something annoys or bothers us and many kinds of emotion appear on ourselves. Some people may have wondered and thought about how these emotions come and affect us. After their consideration, most of them misunderstand that humans have the ability to create and change their emotion. Think about the situations that can be happened after our emotion - We would have a fight or an argument when we feel angry at someone, hug or kiss someone when we feel love, run away or confront against when we feel fear, cry when we are sad, and various situations occur naturally in accordance with variety of emotion. They can be happened because of our automatic emotion before we really notice it. We might think that emotion is able to be controlled by human because we feel it differently but actually humans are not able to highly control their emotion.

1. Attention grabber -
I tried to attract people with common emotion that everyone completely feels in daily life. Then, I mentioned what some people may have wondered about and showed their opinion that is misunderstood and suggest them to think about the situations.

2. Explains the topic -
I wrote some situations that the readers might think of while they are reading as an element to derive the topic. Also I mention the elements of my topic : automatic emotion, misunderstanded opinion, and the opposite of this opinion.

3. My thesis -
I first thought the argument that "Various situations can be occured by various human emotions." but it was broad, and not direct. Then I changed it to specific argument that "Humans are not controlling and not able to control their emotion" but it was not that simple and thought it should be more specific. Finally, I changed it to "Humans are not able to Highly control their emotion."

Classical Argument Outline

1. The introduction, which warms up the audience, establishes goodwill and rapport with the readers, and announces the general theme or thesis of the argument.

I will start by writing about the common sense that everyone must have thought of:  what is the exact meaning of human emotion? Then, I will give a example based on the opinion most people give that they are controlling their mental change and emotions. After that I'm going to say that this opinion is a wrong expression for the essence of human emotion and mention the thesis that 'Human is actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.'

2. The narration, which summarizes relevant background material, provides any information the audience needs to know about the environment and circumstances that produce the argument, and set up the stakes-what’s at risk in this question. In academic writing, this often takes the form of a literature review.
I will show what I've researched about and explain about distinction between emotion and feelings how the emotion comes or be triggered and the way humans notice and regulate their emotion which can make them misunderstand that they have an ability to control their emotions. I will give a brief introduction of the history of human emotion from our ancestors to current ourselves.
3. The confirmation, which lays out in a logical order (usually strongest to weakest or most obvious to most subtle) the claims that support the thesis, providing evidence for each claim.
I will start by describing how human depends on several basic inner systems and therapies to feel and response to their emotion. I will emphasize that human emotion progresses and occur unconsciously, not by their own ability by telling about the Basic human emotion. I will descibe the paradox that humans think they can control emotion but they rely on the external therapy because they have difficulty to notice the limit of themselves. I will examine that human can control the response of their emotion, not their emotion which rapidly appears to us.
4. The refutation and concession, which looks at opposing viewpoints to the writer’s claims, anticipating objections from the audience, and allowing as much of the opposing viewpoints as possible without weakening the thesis.
I will concede that not expressin the response from the actual emotion can be a repressing or even controlling of emotion. I will concede the examples of actor and actress, gagman and gagwoman who have to do their job not cling to their present emotion and feelings.
5. The summation, which provides a strong conclusion, amplifying the force of the argument,  and showing the readers that this solution is the best at meeting the circumstances.
I will summarize my previous points and then give a emphasis on the unconcsious effect on human being. I will end by mentioning my orginal thesis again.

My Topic : Humans are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.

What I Hope to Learn :
I want to learn about how human emotions have been changed from the ancient history to the current society. I wonder if there are some information like the role of human emotions that I couldn't figure about.

Notes :

The Evolution of Human Emotion
1. Emotions are biological(pysiological response), psychological(mental), and social(interactions&relationship).
2.  Emotions evolved to help us cope with events and situations that had consequences for our immediate welfare.(Forms any consequence or solution in any situations)
3. Emotions evolved to allow us to rapidly, efficiently, automatically, and unconsciously react to the world without thinking, and prepare us to act (or react) appropriately.
4. Emotions aid in adaptation because they recruit programs that coordinate and orchestrate other evolved systems, such as perception, attention, inference, learning, memory, goal choice, motivational priorities, physiological reactions, motor behaviors, and behavioral decision making.

Basic Emotions
1. Humans experience many different types of emotions, including self-conscious emotions, positive emotions, prosocial emotions, and moral emotions.
2. The basic emotions include anger, contempt, disgust, fear, enjoyment, sadness, and surprise.
3. These Basic Emotions are shared with our primate ancestors. That is to say, they appear to be emotional reactions that nonhuman primates have as well.
4.  Basic emotions refer to a quite large and varied emotional world. They include several detailed emotions. That's why they are called 'Basic'
How are Emotions Triggered?
1. Emotions can be triggered by the existence of a base processing system that could occur in interactions with nature or with other humans. The system is hard-wired and hard to be changed by experience through the lifespan.
2. The process of triggering emotions are like that
(1) Perception which is turned to schemas consist of two components- physical characteristics & psychological meanings)
(2) Apparisal which happens immediately and unconsciously and matches to decide an emotional response.
*If it doesn't match, the individual continues to scan the environment.
3. This process is coordinated.
4. People all around the world universally have some prototypic schema in the emotion schema database when they are born.
5. People can learn to have emotions to virtually anything.
6. The ability to learn to have emotional reactions allows for large cultural and individual differences.

The Basic Emotion Response System
1. Physiological Reactions, Cognitions, Feelings, and Expressions are the basic emotions response system.

The Impact of Evolved Emotions Today
1. Humans in many current cultures today are conquering or controlling personal climate while our ancestors were trying to survive and exist in the nature.
2. Emotions allow for complex social networks and relationships, and enhance the meaning of normal, daily activities.
3. The key for the future is not to eliminate emotions. We can’t. Instead, we need to learn how to regulate our emotions to live in a civilized, new world.

Final thoughts :
This research helped me to understand that human emtions have been the major source of our history and have changed by the changing environment and human attributes. It helped me to agree on the basic human emotions which we commonly show on our face. The process of triggering emtions and the basic emotion response system helped me to learn that humans regulate or feel their emotions by several things that are inherent in themselves, not by their own ability. This research helped me with supporting my opinion.

Articulation

1) My argument
I want to argue that people are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions . Emotions are likely to change people's mood and behavior. People tend to think that they have control in any cases and to show what they want while they sharing their emotions and reactions each other. I want to emphasize that 'control' is a wrong use of term for the emotion.

2) How I found my argument
My first research question was, 'How should people do with their emotions?'. I wonder if there are any rules on having different feelings. The article in my 'Research 1' shows the way to identify and express feelings. And I've started to think that people are not same at when and where and how much they tend to express their feelings. The article in my 'Research 2' shows mostly everything about different examples and ways people differently do with their emotions. Then, I  think that different examples exist because of the different viewpoint for emotion among people.

3) New research questions
a) How does the brain response to the emotions?
b) Which progress does people have for their expression of emotions?
I'll continue looking for interesting articles and keeping track of my research with blog posts.

4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler
This argument is mostly related to the human mind in Harvard Sampler because human emotions are fundamentally related to the human mind. The human emotions are not controllable as the human mind does(My subjective thought). The human mind tend to become attracted to the stereotypes. The human emotions also have a tendency because even human themselves don't exactly and perfectly know about the emotions.

Emotions – How To Understand, Identify and Release Your Emotions

Source : Emotions - How to understand, identify and release your emotions
http://www.mkprojects.com/pf_emotions.html

My Topic : Humans are actually not controlling and not able to control their emotions.

What I hope to learn from this source :
I want to learn the detailed sources about the basic things of human emotions and human mind such as the definition.

Notes :

1. Emotions control your thinking, behavior and actions.
2. Some make a distinction between emotions and feelings saying that a feeling is the response part of the emotion and that an emotion includes the situation or experience, the interpretation, the perception, and the response or feeling related to the experience of a particular situation.
3. Dr. Maurice Elias says, Emotions are our most reliable indicators of how things are going on in our lives.
4. The only person who can change what you feel is you.
5. There are only two basic emotions that we all experience, love and fear.
6. You cannot change or control your emotions.  You can learn how to be with them, living peacefully with them, transmuting them (which means releasing them), and you can manage them, but you cannot control them.
7. People are afraid to really feel their feelings. Being strongly connected to your emotional life is essential to living a life. Go-South!
8. Repressing your emotions in various ways can cause various symptoms.
9. Repressed or buried emotions can cause major difficulties in the physical body and energetic systems.
10. If you keep remembering something or someone your emotions on them is being repressed.
11. Accepting responsibility for your emotions are one of the method to release emotions.

Final Thoughts : This research source is more specific than the last one(Research 1) that I've found. It has most information that I have been looking for. It mostly tells about what the emotion is, what people should do for their emotions, what the symptoms are and how they do affect us. I think this is good for telling more smoothly about the emotions, one of the confusing source of human, for understanding.
